NEW! The Fashion Show

Last Thursday (May 7th) marked the premier of Bravo's new show called "The Fashion Show." It has many similarities to Project Runway except with different hosts and a slight twist on the judging. Instead of being judged solely by the panel of judges like on Project Runway, the contestants on The Fashion Show are also judged by the live audience who views their runway shows. The hosts are none other than Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland (wait... Kelly Rowland... huh?). I know, I know. I was thinking the same thing. Anwyway so far I like the show, although I will always be partial to Project Runway. Hopefully the show will continue to impress.

Ugh

You know what I hate? I hate how makeup producers grossly mislable the colors of their lipsticks/lipglosses. This happened to me the other day. I was at the drugstore making a purchase when I noticed this lipstick in a really pale honeyish coral color. It was so pretty that I just had to buy it. So I open it as soon as I get in the car, all excited to try it out, when I realized that it was not the pale honey-coral color I was expecting. Instead, it was this dark pinky coral color. I was so mad. This happens all the time.

Unless you can try the lipstick on in the store to make sure it meets your expectations, I would recommend (from experience) to avoid buying it. Good places to go to try on lipcolor before a purchase are MAC, Sephora, C.O. Bigelow (I love their mint lip balms!), and the Body Shop (which has great-tasting glosses and all of their products are natural and free trade). All of these places have testers so you can see how the color looks on your lips, not just how it appears on the label or in the bottle. Too bad I didn't follow my own advice. Oh well... at least the lipstick was on sale for only like $1.12 and at least I used my Dad's credit card to pay for it =].
