Introduction and SAG awards '09

Since this is my first post I will tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Cate. I am a dance major in college. I love fashion and, while that does not give me any credentials to keep a blog on it, I am doing it anyway. I did take a fashion course in high school for what that's worth.

As the '09 SAG awards just happened this past week...

The first picture is of Meryl Streep at the SAG awards '09. She is a very attractive older lady, so it is a pity to see her dress like this. When getting older it is well known that one's body will tend to sag, rather than lift. So why would she pair her aging body with this saggy sack of a dress? The black completely washes her out, her hair is a mess, and she desperately needs some eye liner and mascara. After receiving the outstanding female actor in a lead role award for her role in "Doubt" Meryl Streep reportedly exclaimed, "I didn't even buy a dress!" Thanks for clearing some things up for us Meryl... (I was right that those were just trash bags!)

Secondly, we have Anne Hathaway at the SAG awards. This white Azzaro gown looked stunning on her. Kudos to her for the understated accessories, natural makeup, and soft waves in her hair that didn't take away from the gown's simple beauty. Even though she didn't win best actress, this dress was definitely a winner.
